I. Posting Guidelines
The following guidelines will be used in deciding if user submitted information can be published in publicly accessible areas of the website.
1. Any registered user may submit content to this site.
2. All submitted content will be reviewed by an Editor prior to being published. the Editor will review the content to ensure it is consistent with posting guidelines and NBGSARA policy. Once it has been approved by the Editor, the Publisher will also review the content and make the decision to make it available to the public or not.
3. Submissions must respect the privacy of the search subject and may not specify subject name(s), cause of death, medical information or personal history. Instead, authors should use general technical terms (e.g. 32 year old male) to describe search subjects. Postings must not include details on ongoing police investigations.
4. Postings must not be derogatory or demeaning and must treat people with respect.
5. Content of a confidential nature will not be published.
6. Postings must not contradict the officially adopted positions of the Association in a critical way. Constructive comments and suggestions on how to solve a particular problem are acceptable.
7. All postings must be copyright cleared by the original author for use on the website. If the author is not the registered user who is submitting the content, then written permission to use the content must be provided before the content can be published.
8. Postings in both official languages (English and French) are encouraged.
9. Postings must be releated to the NBGSARA, the member teams, stakeholder agencies or search and rescue in general.
10. The publisher reserves the right to make editorial changes to user submitted content prior to publishing. When such changes are made, the original author will be notified by email. No changes will be made to thrid-party information; in such cases the submitter will be notified by email of the reason why the information cannot be posted in its submitted form.
11. The NBGSARA Board of Directors may modify or waive any aspect of this document at their discretion through a formal vote. The NBGSARA Executive may modify or waive this document until a formal vote of the Board of Directors can be held.
12. The Publisher reserves the right to remove any content not in compliance with these guidelines.
Postings not meeting this criteria will not be published until corrected.
