SAR Teams in New Brunswick, Canada

There are 11 volunteer ground search and rescue teams in the province of New Brunswick, Canada. The provincial government delegates it's jurisdiction for search and rescue on land and inland waterways to the police, generally the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). The NBGSARA represents the teams in dealings with the police and government. The teams receive some government funding, but the bulk of their operating funds are obtained through fundraising. There are approximately 500 volunteers.
